What is a graph in Maxima?

[ ? The graphs package provides graph and digraph data structure for Maxima. Graphs and digraphs are simple (have no multiple edges nor loops), although digraphs can have a directed edge from u to v and a directed edge from v to u . Internally graphs are represented by adjacency lists and implemented as a lisp structures.

How does maxima work?

Maxima calculates set of points to be plotted and pass the to the plotting package together with a set of commands; the commands and plot data are passed to the external program either through a pipe or by saving them into a file with the extension maxout.interface, where interface is the name of the plotting interface being used.

Does Maxima use a plotting package?

Maxima uses an external plotting package to make the plots (see the section on Plotting Interfaces below).

What are maxima and minima?

Maxima and minima are known as the extrema of a function. Maxima and minima are the maximum or the minimum value of a function within the given set of ranges. For the function, under the entire range, the maximum value of the function is known as the absolute maxima and the minimum value is known as the absolute minima.
